Georgian Wine Masterclass & Trade Tasting Day

Many sommeliers in Singapore are familiar with the flavour, background and styles of Georgian wine. But when it comes to selling niche wines, including Georgian wines, this can be a challenge. For 2024 masterclass, Debra gathered key F&B experts who success with alternative wine styles, to share their tips. Following a Georgian wine masterclass and tasting of nine examples, the panel shared their experiences, ideas, tips and challenges for selling niche wines. Part of the panel were the world’s 5th only newly minted MS MW Ben Hasko (Group Sommelier – Cloudstreet Group), joined the panel, along with Annette Scarfe MW, Ronald Kamiyama (Group Sommelier – Cicheti Group), Germaine Wong (importer & retailer), Geraldine Bablot (importer), and Alvin Gho and Ian Lim (importers, sommeliers and bar owners).
